Round 15 & The Lucas Oil Cup

Firebird International Raceway - Chandler, AZ

Live Fast Play Dirty Motorsports finishes the 2012 season with success!

JERRY DAUGHERTY FINISHES THE SEASON IN 4TH PLACE!

E3 SPARK PLUGS PRO 4 #23

What a great way to end an amazing season!  As usual, Lucas Oil Off Road provided us with an unbelievable track, and a great venue for the fans!

LOORS Round 15

Round 15 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series was a round that Jerry Daugherty and the E 3 Spark Plugs Pro 4 #23 was very much looking forward to.  Entering this round, Jerry found himself tied for the 3rd Place position in the championship points standings with none other than Carl Renezeder.  Jerry and the E3 Pro 4, qualified on Friday in 10th position and knew that it wold be a battle to the front.

Race time brought much attrition and a glimpse into what was in store for the Lucas Oil Cup race to be held on Sunday.  Jerry Daugherty and the E3 Spark Plugs Pro 4 battled through and brought in a 7th place finish, and a 4th Place Overall points position for the season!  Congratulations to Jerry and the entire team!

The Lucas Oil Cup!

With much anticipation, the Pro 4 #23 of Jerry Daugherty AND the Pro 2 #52 of Patrick Clark made their way to the track!  This highly regarded, big money race is one that is looked forward to by fans all season!  Known for carnage, and ego, the Lucas Oil Cup did not disappoint!  Whenever the Pro 2 and Pro 4 classes are placed onto the track at the same time, there is sure to be excitement and alot of aggressive driving.  Jerry D and the #23 came into contact with another truck over a jump and unfortunately ended his chances at the cup.  He finished in 7th position in the Pro 4 class.  Definitely looking forward to the 2013 season!

 PATRICK CLARK

PRO 2 #52

Patrick Clark ends the 2012 season with Rookie of the Year!!

Patrick Clark & the Live Fast Play Dirty Motorsports Team

Show their support for the fight against Breast Cancer

As the #52 of Patrick Clark Racing rolled out of the semi, the look was familiar, but there was a definite difference in it's appearance!  Sporting a special pink appearance, the #52 of Patrick Clark and the team showed their support for the ongoing battle against breast cancer!  A special truck theme, new pick helmet, and pink mohawks were the craze in the Live Fast Play Dirty Motorsports pits!

LOORS Round 15

Patrick Clark and the #52 Pro 2 were ready for the final round of racing in the LOORS series! Although Patrick had secured the Rookie of the Year spot earlier this season, he was proud and determined to finish big!  Starting in the 10th position, Patrick made his way to the front, or so he thought.  Early in the race, Patrick was caught up in a may lay that ended his day!  As three trucks entered the air over a mid-track jump, the #52 of Clark got caught in the middle and one of the wheels broke off in mid air.  Patrick was able to save the #52 from rolling and destroying his and a few other race vehicles, but it ended the round for the #52.

Lucas Oil Cup

As the Pro 2 and Pro 4 Class prepared for the Cup race, Patrick and the team knew that he was a viable contender for not only the podium, but quite possibly the win.  With the off season approaching, Clark wanted to end the season with a big exit!  Patrick battled, as did all of the drivers in this race, to get to the front of the track in one piece!  Staying clean, but aggressive, Patrick Clark maintained his positioning and ultimately finished 4th in the Pro 2 class of the Cup.  Congratulations to Patrick Clark and the team for a great season!

                                                                                                                  ROUND 15

As Aaron Daugherty and the Tuff Country EZ Ride Suspensions/Suspension Connection/Mickey Thompson Tires Pro Lite entered the final round of racing for the 2012 season, his mind was set on great racing and a solid finish.  Debuting a new truck this season, Aaron and the #23 have had a few "new truck blues", but knew that this great truck was better than it had been all season.  As qualifying began, Aaron and the #23 Pro Lite looked, handled, and reacted better than what had been expected!  This gave high hopes for the weekend to the Live Fast Play Dirty crew!  Qualifying 14th, the position wasn't exactly where Aaron wanted to start, but confident in his truck and weekend!  Running a great race, Aaron made his way up into the top 10 in a quick manner.  An unfortunate crash on the front straightaway, gathered up the #23 and ended his hopes for the podium.  Although the crash ended his day, Aaron was still able to bring in an 11th place finish!

                                                                                                           LUCAS OIL CUP

Aaron felt as though he, and the Tuff Country Pro Lite #23 had a point to prove as Sunday's race began.  Knowing that the combination of the Pro Lite class and the Pro Buggy class would cause carnage, Aaron decidedly tried to place himself in strategic positions throughout the race.  This strategy was working extremely well for the #23 as he actually made his way up into the top 5 positions as the race ensued.  With many obstacles in the way, Aaron managed to keep the #23 Pro Lite in competitive placement throughout.  Even after being rolled, Aaron and the Tuff Country #23 never missed a beat and continued on to finish the cup race 8th in the Pro Lite class!  Congratulations to Aaron and the entire team!  Can't wait for next season!

Rounds 13 & 14

Las Vegas Motor Speedway - Las Vegas, NV

JERRY DAUGHERTY

E3 SPARK PLUGS PRO 4 #23

Under the lights of Vegas, the Live Fast Play Dirty Motorsports team set out to maintain the momentum and success that has been setting the pace of the 2012 season.

A great race track, competitive racing, and amazing fans made for another successful Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series event.Kicking off the race weekend, the LOORS teams and crews headed to the Fremont Street Experience to set the trucks on display, meet fans, sign autographs, and participate in give-a-ways.  The streets were packed and  it made for a great beginning to an exciting race weekend!

LOORS Round 13 & 14

Qualifying for Rounds 13 & 14 decidedly happened in the same round.  The position that was earned in  Thursday afternoon's qualifying session, would remain in place for both rounds of racing.  As the only Pro vehicle to have completed every round of every race, the E3 Spark Plugs Pro 4 of Jerry Daugherty set out to keep this bragging right in place.  Unfortunately, Jerry and the #23 seemed to have some heating issues.  As the qualifying round progressed, the heat issues did also.  In an effort not to destroy a motor, Jerry decided to pull the #23 off the track and not finish the session.  This placed the #23 in the10th  starting position for both rounds 13 & 14.

Jerry and the E3 Spark Plugs Pro 4 ran well in round 13 and fought to establish position with each lap.  As he did, he came into contact with many drivers.  Although most contact did not cause much issue, the contact that was had between the #23 and the Hart & Huntington Pro 4 of Carey Hart, did.  Contact from Hart while in the air, caused havoc with the #23.Jerry managed to save the truck from rolling, but nonetheless, the damage caused to the rear of the truck made it unable to finish the round.  Jerry Daugherty finished in 9th.

Determined to have a better outcome for round 14, Jerry D and the 23 headed out in attempt to keep the 3rd place position in the points standings.  Due to Carl Renezeder's win the night before, it seemed that it would be extremely difficult.  Jerry ran an awesome race and made his way to 4th place.  Meanwhile, Carl had lost a wheel and the luck seemed to be falling in our favor.  As the leaders began to have issues ahead, it was thought that Jerry may have the opportunity to see the podium again if he fought hard!  With one lap to go, the E3 #23 lost power and had to pull off.  Although the podium was elusive, Jerry held on to a 6th place finish.

WELCOMES

LUCAS OIL OFF ROAD

TO VEGAS!

LOORS ROUNDS 13 & 14

Patrick Clark and the Pro 2 #52 had great expectations for performance in front of the hometown crowd.  When it comes to expectations, Patrick had made a habit of not disappointing!  Patrick had a great qualifying session on Thursday and began the weekend of racing by starting on the front row!

As Friday's battle began Patrick found himself surrounded by talent, and ready to race.  It appeared that there was something not quite right with the #52, but the fact that Clark had lost brakes didn't deter him from staying with the frontrunners.  Upon the restart at the halfway point, Patrick Clark and the General Tire/Exotic Engine #52 found himself in 4th position as MacCachren pulled off the track.  He remained in 4th and finished the race with a fight......in true Clark fashion.

Saturday night racing under the lights in Vegas brings a ton of energy to the fans and drivers alike.  Patrick and the crew were ready and amped!

Finding himself in many door to door, and door to fender incidents, Patrick was shuffled back positions and forced wide in many occassions.  Upon the final laps of the race, Patrick and the General Tire #52 forced his way back into the top five and finished in 5th place.  Patrick might be new to the Pro 2 class, but his driving speaks for itself.  Great job!

LOORS ROUNDS 13 & 14

Aaron Daugherty and the Tuff Country/Suspension Connection/Mickey Thompson Pro Lite has been counting the days until having the opportunity to get onto the track in Vegas!  Major changes and adjustments have been made on the #23 since Reno, and the team was anxious to try them out! As Daugherty set out for qualifying, it was apparent that the changes made had been an improvement and Aaron was fairly pleased with the overall outcome. He was ready for Friday night lights!

As the Pro Lite field hit the track, it never ceases to amaze at the level of competition in this class.  Once a class of growth and development, the Pro Lite class has emerged to be one of the most competitive, aggressive and talent rendering fields in the series.  With this being said, the drivers of this class raced with a vengeance and battled in their usual manner.  Aaron Daugherty and the #23 ran a good clean race in the middle of a dog fight...........maybe a little too clean? He finished in 12th position, and vowed not to be so nice on Saturday.

Aaron and the Mickey Thompson machine found himself in the thick of many battles on Saturday.  As expected, Aaron decided not to be pushed around near as much as he was the night before. He hit his marks, found good lines, and picked up more than a few seconds per lap as the race progressed.  There were no shortage of "racing incidents", and Daugherty took some good hits while proving that he has the backbone to compete in a tough field!  Although Aaron and the #23 finished well and in the 14th position, it took a few minutes and deep breaths to calm his frustration with a few other drivers in the field. Round 15 and the Lucas Oil Cup in October should be exciting to watch!  Don't miss it!!

Rounds 11 & 12

Wild West Motorsports Park - Reno, NV

JERRY DAUGHERTY MAINTAINS HIS 3RD PLACE POSITION!

Jerry Daugherty

Pro 4 #23

The LOORS Teams and drivers rolled into the Reno area for the first time this past weekend to race at the new Wild West Motorsports Park in Sparks, NV. Unlike any other track that we race in this series, Lucas Oil Off Road did an amazing job designing and building this track and facility!  It was a fast, wide open, track that included sweeping uphill turns, huge air jumps, and change in elevations that were awesome!

LOORS Round 11 & 12

The E 3 Spark Plugs Pro 4 of Jerry Daugherty had a few issues in practice on Thursday that kept the #23 from benefiting from open practice that was held.  Due to this reason, Jerry and the #23 were determined to make the most of the practice sessions and qualifying efforts that were given to them on Friday.  When the checkered flag dropped on qualifying, Jerry Daugherty had picked up over a second in time, and was posed in 10th position for Saturday's round of racing, and in 9th position for Sunday round.   Rounds 11 & 12  at the Wild West was an eventful one! Whether it was the high flying jumps or black flags, there was plenty of excitement for the crowds that attended.  The track made for great side by side and even tree wide racing, and seem to bring out the aggressive manner in most of the competitors!  A tangle between Jerry D and Corry Weller even earned Corry a black flag penalty! Jerry ran great races and in a solid manner, brought home a 6th place finish of Saturday and 5th place on Sunday!  The E3 Spark Plugs #23 Pro 4 of Jerry Daugherty is the only Pro 4 entry to date to complete all race laps of the entire season!  Great job Jerry and the crew!

  PATRICK CLARK

HEADS WEST WITH GUNS BLAZING!

LOORS Rounds 11 & 12

Patrick Clark came to the Wild West Motorsports Park with momentum and determination.  He has seen the podium twice this year..........but yet to stand on top of the box!  It is definitely the mission at hand.  As practice and qualifying sessions came to a close, it seemed that Sunday's round 12 of racing might be his chance!  Patrick would be on the pole for Sunday's Round 12 of racing!

Patrick and the #52 Pro 2 qualified 13th in Round 11 and he quickly found his way toward the front of the field.  The battles in round 11 were epic and the field was full of black flags and attrition!  While flying the jump into turn 4 near the end of the race, the #52 caught air and the truck was pushed into the air.  Upon landing, the truck, and Patrick took a brutal hit.  Although the General Tire #52 was in good condition, we couldn't' say so much for Patrick.  Patrick suffered some minor neck injuries and was taken for examination on Saturday evening.  After careful consideration and discussion, it was decided that it was in the best interest to have a substitute driver take the wheel of the #52 for Sunday's race.  R J Anderson graciously accepted our request and we thank him, and the entire Stronghold Motorsports Team for helping our team out!  Due to this substitution, R J would be forced to start in the back of the field.  He quickly made his way through the pack and set his sights on the front.  A black flag incident with Robby Woods caused him to have issues and ultimately go a lap down. R J Anderson is one helluva racer, and he did not disappoint!  He ran a remarkable race, and definitely made the team proud to have him in the #52!

LOORS ROUNDS 11 & 12

The Tuff Country #23 and Aaron Daugherty seemed to love the new track and facility that LOORS had provided for us!  The scenery was beautiful, and it was a perfect weekend for racing!  Aaron and the team have been working on the truck's set up and suspension, and now it was time to see how well it works!  Aaron picked up speed and time as practice and qualifying sessions progressed. Overall taking a few seconds off of his lap times.  Aaron's efforts earned him and the #23 Pro Lite a 19th place starting position for Saturday, and a 16th place starting posisition for Sunday.  In a field of over 21 trucks, its an interesting race to watch!  Aaron proved to be a fighter in the field and raced a strong, fast race!  Several incidents had the capability of taking him out of the race, but he pushed through and gained the positions. He continues to move this program forward  and brought home 10th place on Saturday, and 11th place on Sunday!

Live Fast Play Dirty Motorsports - Patrick Clark and the #52 hits the podium at Glen Helen!

E3 Spark Plugs

Jerry Daugherty

Pro 4 #23

The stands and grounds were standing room only at Glen Helen Raceway this past weekend for Rounds 9 & 10 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series!

Under the lights of the raceway, the racers and teams brought a great show to the fans!

LOORS Round 9

Night racing at Glen Helen brought a few changes to the normal schedule of things in the series for Rounds 9 & 10.  Friday's qualifying effort was to be used in both Saturday and Sunday's rounds of racing with the inversion number drawn for each.  Jerry Daugherty and the E3 Spark Plugs #23 Pro 4 started both races in 10th position.  Saturday night's race was a jam packed with drama and antics as usual.  Jerry ran a great race and battled hard with his fellow Pro 4 competitors.  He found himself once again battling the beautiful Corry Weller!  It seems that the two have magnets lately!  Jerry had found himself fighting for 5th position when the competition yellow flag dropped.  Jerry had a great re-start once the competition lap had finished.  Unfortunately, the LOORS officials felt that Jerry had jumped the start.  Jerry and the #23 were given the black flag and had to serve a penalty of stop and go through the hot pits.  Jerry served the penalty and went back to the track to fight for what he could salvage.  All in all, he did a great job and finished 6th!

LOORS Round 10

As Sunday morning rolled on, the teams and Drivers alike were thankful that the racing was scheduled for the evening!  The sun of the California desert made for hot and muggy conditions. Once the sun went down it was beautiful!  Jerry and the #23 Pro 4 made their way to attempt to hit the podium as his team mate, Patrick had done the night before! Starting in 10th, Jerry and the #23 ran a great race.  6th place earned him a strong standing in the points. It is evident that he is getting faster and progressing this Pro 4 program each week!

Patrick Clark

Holds off Rob MacCachren to take 2nd!

LOORS ROUND 9

It seems that there is a buzz in the pits these days...................Who is this Patrick Clark?  Where did he come from?

Patrick Clark may be a rookie in the Pro 2 class, but there is nothing "rookie" about his ability to drive a Pro 2!  For those who questioned whether or not his podium finish in Round 7 was a fluke or beginners luck, Patrick put the questions to rest with an amazing show of talent in Round 9 of the LOORS Glen Helen event!  Qualifying 7th on Friday, Patrick just missed the inversion as the number pulled was 6.  Due to some technical issues, Rob Naughton was moved to the back of the field and this placed Patrick on the pole!  Patrick knew that he had a great chance, but he had to keep out front.  This would be difficult being that the guy next to him was none other than Marty Hart! Behind him?  A field of veteran drivers that are lightning fast, coming after his position!  Patrick ran a clean, fast, race of which consisted of a continual battle with Marty Hart and the constant pressure of Rob MacCachren an many more behind him.  Patrick finished in 2nd Place!  Congratulations to Patrick Clark and the whole Live Fast Play Dirty team!

LOORS ROUND 10

Coming off of a great round of racing on Saturday, Patrick Clark and the #52 were out to hunt down the top of the box!  Starting in 7th, Patrick found himself in a constant battle.  The racing was tough, and the racers were aggressive.  Patrick held his line and gained ground as much as the track would allow.  Engaging in full contact, and being turned in several turns by fellow drivers, Patrick did an unbelievable job keeping position and finishing in 7th.  He is definitely looking forward to Reno in a few weeks to finish what he has started.  If you are looking for Patrick Clark.................chances are you might find him on the podium!

AARON DAUGHERTY

LOORS ROUND 9

The Aaron Daugherty Pro Lite #23 has continually worked to improve both track position and points position.  It seems that the rounds of racing in Glen Helen agreed with this effort.  The Tuff Country EZ Ride Suspensions/Mickey Thompson #23 has consistently improved both positions as rounds of racing progress.  The Pro Lite field has consistently held unmatching numbers of entries throughout the 2012 season.  With competitor numbers ranging from 22 to 27, this has proven to be one of the most competitive classes in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series.  Aaron has stepped up to the task of taking on each track with passion.  Round 9 of the LOORS season was no different.  Aaron began the pursuit on Saturday night in 22nd position.  Battling through 22 of your closest (or not so close) friends, takes determination, focus, and a lot of patience.  Patience had a tendency to run a little short as he pushed to the front of the field.  He managed to make the Tuff Country/Suspension Connection Prolite as wide as possible and came through with a finishing position of 11th.

LOORS ROUND 10

Due to qualifying on Friday, the #23 of Aaron Daugherty started again in the 22nd position.  Aaron is well versed in moving through the pack and he proved that on Sunday night under the lights of the Glen Helen Raceway!  Aaron ran a great race and gained  both respect and tenacity as Round 10 of the LOORS series moved closer to a close.  The #23 ran great and the new truck gremlins seemed to be a past concern.  Aaron Daugherty and the #23 finished 12 positions ahead of where they started, and finished top 10!  The solid finish efforts seems to be moving him in the right direction in the points standings as well.  Way to go Aaron and the team!

LOORS ROUND 7

Jerry and the E3 Spark Plugs Pro 4 have been looking forward to getting back on the track since his podium finish in Speedworld.  It was hopeful that the momentum would continue, and that there might be a podium in future again. Making great strides and changes in his program, we are seeing a definite improvement in finish position and lap times.  With the help and assistance of his team mates, Patrick Clark,Aaron Daugherty, and friend Mike Emerson, Jerry proved to be bringing the battle back to his Pro 4.  Jerry qualified 9th in Round 7 at MMP.  Making some adjustments due to a vibration, Jerry took on to the track with determination to back up his podium finish in Round 6.  Jerry ran great and at the end of the day finished 4th!

LOORS ROUND 8

Sunday's round of racing started with wind, wind, and more, wind!  Nonetheless, qualifying took place and Jerry and the #23 decided that they liked the 9th position.  Knowing that he had his work cut out for him, Jerry was focused on making his way through the field ahead.  What a battle!  Jerry and Corry Weller seemed to have had magnets attached to their trucks as they fought door to door for lap after lap.  Neither one was going to give it up.  An unfortunate spin by Corry gave Jerry the position and the opportunity to move forward.  OK, so there was a little more to it than that, but he swears that he couldn't avoid driving over her!  As the sun set at Miller Motorsports Park, Jerry Daugherty and the E3 Spark Plugs Pro 4 finished Round 8 in 5th!

THE PRO 2 #52 TAKES 3RD IN ROUND 7!

LOORS ROUND 7

Patrick Clark came to Utah a lot like the wind.......fast and furious!  Qualifying 8th in Friday's session, Patrick hit the track with determination and focus.  It was that same determination and focus that he needed to get him through Round 7.  At the drop of the green flag, Patrick began his way to the front.  On lap 3, the #52 lost all brakes!  The ability to stay focused and a lot of work paid off for Patrick as he took the 3rd Place spot on top of the box!  It was his first Pro 2 podium, but certain to be one of many!  Congratulations to Patrick, Mike Emerson, and the Live Fast Play Dirty Motorsports crew!

LOORS ROUND 8

Coming off of his podium finish on Saturday, Patrick and the Pro 2 #52 prepared to repeat the process.  Qualifying efforts on Sunday morning placed Patrick in 7th.  He was in good company with Rodrigo Ampudia in front of him and Rob Naughton behind.  The round provided great racing and door to door battles.  None more intense than those battles with Greg Adler.  Battling with Greg caused the #52 to spin in the corner and seemed to set things back a bit.  Overcoming the adversity, Patrick took the checkered flag 5th!  It was a great race and one not to be missed when aired!

LOORS ROUND 7

Aaron came into Round 7, 8th in the points standings.  He has been consistent in finishing in the the top 10 in each of the preceding rounds.  He is not satisfied with top 10.......he wants more.  The Tuff Country EZ Ride Suspensions Pro Lite was eager to show the hometown fans a great show! Aaron and Jerry Daugherty have had a full few weeks, participating in television interviews, appearances, and promoting this race.  Their fans showed up to cheer them on!

Aaron qualified 15th in Friday's efforts.  It seemed that there began to be some heating issues with the #23.  The crew went to work and by race time, the #23 was FAST!  Passing many competitors in very little time, it seemed that this race was going to be a good one!  Oops!  A roll by the #23 ended the "good" part.  Nonetheless, Aaron went back at it and kept in the game and finishing 17th.

LOORS ROUND 8

Aaron set out in the windy city to reclaim the great run he had the day before.  He qualified mid pack which is an accomplishment with 20 + Pro Lite competitors on the track.  Aaron went to work and was making good progress, when the heat issue returned.  Aaron ducked into the hot pits and the crew tried to do what they could to reduce the heat in the motor, and sent him out onto the track.  A lap or two later, the heat returned. Aaron was forced to pull off the track and finished the round in 22nd. Not the weekend he had hoped for, but ready for Glen Helen.

When the forecasters called for a hot weekend...the Live Fast Play Dirty Motorsports team took them seriously!  Nothing that the weekend could bring would over shadow the 3rd Place podium finish that Jerry Daugherty and the E3 Spark Plugs Pro 4 #23 brought home from Round 6 at Speedworld!

LOORS ROUND 5
As the drivers, teams, and fans arrive for racing this weekend, the temps seemed to rise.  By time for practice and qualifying on Friday, the hat was on!  Jerry had a slight issue with heat, but it was with the #23.  Once the issue was resolved, he set out to qualify.  Jerry and the #23 qualified in the 10th position.  Race time brought a great show to all of the fans that love Pro 4 racing.  From Josh Merrill in the Hart & Huntington #22 bursting into flames, to a great battle for the lead between Kyle LeDuc and Carl Renezeder.  In the mix, was Jerry and the #23, aiming for the front.  A few instances of banging doors and mud in the face, Jerry managed to carry his way to the 6th spot where he finished.  It was a solid run for the E 3 Spark Plugs team, and onto Round 6!

Sunday was a great day for racing!  The starting grid for Round 6 was decided differently than the past few rounds.  Starting position was determined by the Championship points standings.  Jerry Daugherty, after Round 5 of racing was in  6th place in the standings. The winner of Saturday's Round 5 of racing, Kyle LeDuc, pulled the number of trucks to invert.  The lucky number was 6, putting Jerry on the front row to begin the race!   He and Curt LeDuc shared the front ow, and it seemed to reflect days in the past!  The Pro 4 race was riddled with carnage and craziness!  The drivers were shuffled around and many of them towed off the track.  Jerry and the E3 #23 found himself in a position to see the podium near the end of the race.  Being in 3rd place, Jerry and his Spotter, Pro 2 Driver Patrick Clark, set their sights on Travis Coyne whom was in 2nd place.  After gaining real estate and battling a great race, Jerry ended the day in 3rd position and enjoying a little success that has been a long time coming. Jerry and the team have added momentum and great determination going into Rounds 7 & 8 at their home track, Miller Motorsports Park in Utah. We are thrilled to be a part of the E3 Spark Plugs Off Road National -  June 23-24, 2012 at Miller Motorsports Park.

Patrick remains a force in Pro 2!
PATRICK CLARK
PRO 2 #52
LOORS ROUND 5

Patrick Clark and the Pro 2 #52 came to Speedworld to race!  Reminiscent of
his successful Super Lite days, the #52 sported the familiar blue design, but
kept the "Welcome to Vegas" mark that Patrick is known for.  Having done some
testing and training since the last round of racing, Patrick has become much more familiar with his truck and is beginning the fine tuning process. Patrick ran great in practice and qualifying, but unfortunately was caught behind a group of slower trucks several times.  Nonetheless, he seized the9th position for Saturday's race.  As the green flag dropped, Patrick turned up the heat!  He battled his way toward the front in matter of minutes.  He definitely had  the momentum and truck to challenge for the podium.  Turn 4 posed a problem near the end of the race, and with a little help, Patrick was
forced over the burm and k-rail into the inside of the track.  This mis-hap caused significant damage to the #52 and finished in the 13th.  Although the finish wasn't what he had hoped for, Patrick said"That is the most fun that I have had in the truck!", with a smile on his face.

LOORS ROUND 6
Patrick was ready for racing on Sunday morning.  He had such a great time on Saturday and had some unfinished business.  After offering his expertise to Jerry Daugherty by spotting in the Pro 4 race, Patrick hopped in the #52 Pro 2 and headed for the track.  As in all of the races in Round 6, qualifying was based on the championship points standings. Patrick took the green flag and headed for turn 1.  There was an unfortunate issue with the #52 and Patrick was forced to pull into the hot pits for repair.  After a slight
delay in finding the issue, the crew had him back on the track. Unfortunately there would not be enough time to catch up and challenge the leaders.  Patrick used his time on the track wisely and had his own session of testing and practice.  He brought home a 16th place finish.  He will be ready for Rounds 7 & 8 at Miller Motorsports Park in June!
